Coaching, Consultation, And Counseling Services
IICAN provides family coaching, consultation, and counseling services such as
- Cultural Awareness & Rights
- Educational & Behavioral Advocacy
- Home Environment Assessment & Feedback
- Parent Coaching—Parent coaching sessions can occur individually, as a couple, or in a small group. Effective parenting strategies are taught and rehearsed in session and homework is provided for implementation and generalization outside of sessions.
- Postsecondary Planning—So your child has graduated high school and is unsure of what their next move will be. IICAN offers postsecondary planning sessions where we will work with your child to determine dreams, goals, and interests. We will them align them with a specific plan of next steps to accomplish their goals.
Is Remote Assessment Right For Us?
- Is your child able to independently sit upright and follow basic verbal directions with or without gentle guidance and reminders?
- Is your child able to provide verbal answers?
- Do you have a quiet room or location with a door where your child can participate in the evaluation session (s) uninterrupted?
- Does this quiet room have a desk where the laptop or computer can be set up?
- Do you have a laptop or desktop computer?
- Does your laptop or desktop computer have audio both input and output?
- Does your laptop/desktop computer have USB ports?
- Do you have a stable internet connection?
- Are you able to facilitate your child’s ability to connect to the sessions by following several steps?
- Connecting to the examiner via Zoom link?
- Connecting the document camera to your computer and adjusting it so that response booklets can be viewed?
- Adhering to the requirement of leaving response booklets in sealed envelope until the day of testing?
- Being on standby during the session (s) to assist your child with toggling between the web camera and document camera view?

It is important to note that the publishers of the testing instruments utilized by IICAN have all received preliminary approval to be administered remotely.
