About Dr. Irby

Dr. Irby is a Nationally Certified and Licensed School Psychologist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2006. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Psychology (2009) and a Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Barry University (2012). During her experience as a school psychology intern, during the 2009-2010 school year, she learned of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support/Response to Intervention (MTSS/RtI), an educational initiative with the purpose of identifying students’ specific needs, intervening, and improving outcomes with the goal of reducing the need for special education services.

Dr. Irby sought more in-depth training in this process and methods to meet the needs of children, so she applied and was accepted into the doctoral school psychology program at the University of South Florida. The PhD program at the University of South Florida is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Teacher Preparation (CAEP, formerly NCATE) and the American Psychological Association (APA).

Dr. Irby earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in School Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2015. She has worked in a large public-school district, private practice, and telepractice providing remote services to districts nationwide. She also serves as an educational consultant to various school districts nationwide.

Dr. Irby has experience working with individuals with emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, specific learning disabilities, and giftedness. She specializes in remote psychoeducational evaluation; individual and group counseling; social skills training; reading and writing tutoring services; organizational and study skills; and parent coaching.
